Welcome, Willkommen, Bienvenue @ WisWeb

WisWeb is Freudenthal Institute's website for secondary math education (students of 12 to 18 years old). The main focus of the site is applets; small computer programs that run over the internet. Moreover, the site offers information on the DME, the Digital Math Environment.

The applets are small interactive learning tools which students can use for several purposes, such as to explore a problem situation, to discover a representation or a concept, to construct and explore 3D-objects, or to practice a skill.

The DME

The DME, the Digital Math Environment, is a web-based learning environment in which applets are part of instructional modules. Student work is stored in the DME and teachers can create their own modules and view the work the students have done. More information can be found on the DME-page. Examples of modules and projects in the DME can be found at the DME Modules page.

DME

On this website a selection of applets, software, instructional materials and other information is available in English. Some applets are also available in other languages: German, French and Italian. These can be found via the flags at the top of the screen. Additions are made to the English version of this site on a regular basis.

Please do also visit the Freudenthal Institute website for more information on the work of the Freudenthal Institute and its national and international projects.
